Ingredients

  • 1 cup basmati rice

  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder

  • 1 teaspoon garam masala powder
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon tomato ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Water as required

Method

  1. Wash the rice thoroughly and soak it in water for 15-20 minutes.
  2. Heat oil in a large pot and add the onions. Saute until they turn translucent.

  4. Add capsicum and stir fry for a minute.
  5. Add the paneer cubes and stir fry for 2-3 minutes.
  6. Add red chili powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, garam masala powder, and salt. Mix well.
  7. Add soy sauce and tomato ketchup. Mix well.
  8. Drain the soaked rice and add it to the pot. Mix well.
  9. Add water and bring it to a boil.
  10. Reduce the heat to low, cover the pot, and let it cook for 20-25 minutes or until the rice is cooked.
  11. Once done, turn off the heat and let it rest for 5 minutes.
  12. Fluff the rice with a fork and serve hot.
