- 4 cups Rice Krispies cereal
- 1 cup smooth peanut butter
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 12 oz. semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/4 cup vegetable shortening

- Mixing bowl
- Measuring cups and spoons

- Parchment paper
- Baking sheet
- Microwave-safe bowl

Method
- In a mixing bowl, combine the peanut butter, powdered sugar, softened butter, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
- Add the Rice Krispies cereal and mix until well combined.
- Using your hands, form the mixture into small balls and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Put them in the fridge for 1 hour to set.
- After the balls have set, melt the chocolate chips and vegetable shortening in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring in between until smooth.
- Using a spoon, dip each rice krispie ball into the melted chocolate and place it back on the parchment-lined baking sheet to set.
- Once all of the balls are coated in chocolate, put them in the fridge for 30 minutes to set.

Notes
You can also use milk chocolate or white chocolate instead of semi-sweet chocolate for the coating. If you want to make these balls nut-free, you can substitute sunflower seed butter for the peanut butter.
