- 1 cup basmati rice
- 1 cup chickpeas (chole)

- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1 teaspoon garam masala powder
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 2 tablespoons oil

Method
- Wash the rice and soak it in water for 20 minutes.
- Heat oil in a pressure cooker and add cumin seeds.
- When the cumin seeds start crackling, add chopped onion and sauté till it turns golden brown.
- Add ginger garlic paste and sauté for a minute.
- Add chopped tomato and green chilies and cook till the tomato turns soft.
- Add coriander powder, red chili powder, turmeric powder, and garam masala powder and mix well.
- Add the soaked rice, 2 cups of water, and salt to taste. Mix well and pressure cook till 2 whistles.
- Meanwhile, heat oil in a frying pan and add chickpeas. Sauté for 5 minutes on medium flame.
- Add the cooked rice to the frying pan and mix well with chickpeas.
- Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.
Notes
- If you don't have a pressure cooker, you can also cook rice in a saucepan.
- You can also add some lemon juice for a tangy taste.
- If you want a spicier taste, you can add more red chili powder.
