Method
- Wash the rice in water and soak it for 20-30 minutes.

- Add the cumin seeds, fennel seeds, mustard seeds, cloves, cardamom pods, and cinnamon stick. Fry them until they release their aroma.
- Add the chopped onions and green chilies. Fry them until the onions turn translucent.
- Add the ginger-garlic paste and fry for a minute or two.
- Add the soaked rice and fry for 2-3 minutes until the rice turns slightly opaque.
- Add the turmeric powder and salt. Mix well.
- Add the coconut milk and water. Mix well.
- Cover the pressure cooker or the pan with a lid and cook on medium flame for one whistle or turn the heat to low and cook for 20-25 minutes.
- Once the rice is cooked, let it rest for a few minutes before opening the lid.
