Method

  1. Rinse the rice in cold water until the water runs clear. Drain and set aside.

  3. Transfer the cooked vegetables to the crock pot.
  4. Add the rice, frozen peas, soy sauce, sesame oil, chicken broth, salt, and black pepper to the crock pot. Stir to combine.
  5. Cover the crock pot and cook on high for 2-3 hours or until the rice is cooked through and the liquid is absorbed.
  6. Fluff the rice with a fork and serve hot.

Notes

  • You can use any vegetables you like in this recipe. Carrots, celery, and corn would all be great additions.
  • If you don't have sesame oil, you can use vegetable or canola oil instead.
  • If you want to add protein to this dish, you can stir in cooked chicken, shrimp, or tofu before serving.
